Last night we saw an amazing match with a slight twist at the end. Controversy or not this match should and will be remembered as one of the greats for a very long time.

After a delayed start the match got underway with LowLandLions and Anexis battling it out for the $6,000 first prize and the runners up taking home a very reasonable $3,000.

LowLandLions started this match with a one map advantage due to coming from the upper bracket, meaning they only needed to win one map to secure victory. On the other hand, Anexis, coming from the lower bracket needed to win both maps in order to take the win. Some people may have seen this as an up-hill struggle but with Anexis being the current #1 team in Europe and possibly the world nobody should have counted them out.

Anexis chose the first map and the game got underway on mp_citystreets, a surprise to some as the expected choice was mp_backlot. However, Anexis seemed to be on another level as they picked LowLandLions apart, eventually winning the map rather convincingly with a 13-5 scoreline.

The second map chosen by the LowLandLions side was mp_strike. Some would favour LowLandLions to take this map, but again nothing can be ruled out at this level. As the game got underway we saw some outstanding teamwork, great individual play and clutch wins from the LowLandLions side who took an early 6-1 lead. Everything was running like clock work which lead to the Anexis side calling a timeout. Collecting their thoughts and thinking about what was going wrong and how they can fix it must have been going through the Anexis players minds whilst the LowLandLions side were probably on a 'high' as the chances of winning that $6000 was getting closer and closer, but could they keep the momentum?

As the match resumed, Anexis seemed to do the impossible and clawed back round after round going into half time with a scoreline of 7-5 in favour of LowLandLions. A great result for Anexis when you consider the scoreline before the timeout, but still a strong position for LowLandLions with mp_strike being such a balanced map.

The second half began with LowLandLions being on the attacking side, making use of the SMG players as they dominated the B bomb site area as well as taking over the A bomb site whenever required. With some fantastic teamwork, LowLandLions increased their lead to 10-5. As expected, Anexis called another timeout to do the exact same thing, to discuss what is going wrong and how they can fix it.

The Anexis side again doing the seemingly impossible as they brought the match back to 10-10 and then going on to take a 12 -10 lead, only needing one more round to secure victory. LowLandLions managed to gain 1 round in the process with only one round remaining in a $6000 final being decided on a knifes edge.

Mid round both teams had lost players, but one player for LowLandLions in particular, froz, was in a strong position to do some damage and take down an Anexis player or two. At this point, there were some issues with the server as the players and shout-casters all seemed to gain a massive ping increase and in the confusion Anexis took the round. After a request from LowLandLions to replay the round, Anexis agreed, showing great sportsmanship even with $6000 on the line. After a quick server change the last remaining round was replayed, LowLandLions won the round and forced the match into overtime.

After a short break, the match resumed as again we saw these two great teams go head to head in over-time for the title of Corsair Vengeance Cup champions. Anexis displayed great teamwork and communication as they stormed into the lead with a scoreline of 2-1. With Anexis only needing two more rounds to secure victory, it was now down to LowLandLions to pull off the impossible. Anexis took the next round, 3-1. With one round remaining, networking issues struck again this time Anexis were 3 players up compared to LowLandLions lonesome soldier. Calls of Good Game came from LowLandLions as they too showed sportsmanship and gracefully accepted defeat.

Both teams demonstrated true sportsmanship and have highlighted the strengths of our beloved CoD4 Promod as a truly competitive game. Things only look good for the future as we look forward to more events like this.

LowLandLions 5-13 (mp_citystreets) Anexis
LowLandLions 13-16 (mp_strike) Anexis

Anexis - $6000
LowLandLions - $3000
Team Dignitas - $1000

A massive thanks to Corsair and a big congratulations to Anexis on taking the win, commiserations to LowLandLions despite them putting up a good fight.

In what is without a doubt the biggest online competition throughout 2011 both Kaos TV and Quadv have secured the limited premium coverage slots for the event. This means that both companies will be given priority access to stream the up-coming onslaught that is the Corsair Vengeance Cup.

The Corsair Vengeance Cup is without a doubt heating up to be the biggest competition of 2011 for the Call of Duty 4 community, seeing both teams and coverage outlets fight it out for the limited slots that are available. With the team list currently standing at an impressive one hundred and eighty eight out of a possible two hundred and fifty six slots it's quite reasonable to suggest that only days remain until the cup reaches its max capacity promising a competition that will not be quickly forgotten.

Alongside this information a whole bundle of coverage outlets have been battling it out for priority access to the event, with only a limited few gaining the prestigious premium coverage slots. I am happy to announce that today the live streaming coverage priority, alongside VoD's of the event, will be allocated to none other than Kaos TV and Quadv both of whom have proven over recent their outstanding capability. They will both be on hand throughout the tournament bringing you the best coverage possible, highlighting ever moment in brilliant high definition.

Bas Bruinekool, of Kaos Industries, gave the following statement exclusively to TEK9 outlining their plans for the event:

"Kaos TV is happy to announce that we have received one of the few premium coverage slot's for the recently announced Corsair Vengeance cup.
The premium coverage slot will give Kaos TV the chance to get first pick on games being played. In addition to providing ingame commentary from our studio with resident hoster Matt "A_Spec" Hoving who will be joined by a small army of expert co-hosts. The co-hosts joining us for the Corsair shows will be:

Ennze
More to be added soon
We currently have a few outstanding requests with more community hosts.

We will update the list in the comments accordingly.

Aside from doing in-game commentary with some of the communities bests hosts and experts, Kaos TV will be introduce some new and unique shows to the COD4 community together with the Corsair Vengeance Cup

A weekly show with an analytical nature, discussing this weeks matches, coming weeks matches and frag or player highlights. Allowing you, the viewer, to have a say in the topics we discuss, be sure to check the Corsair Vengeance Cup and Tek-9 forums as we will be asking YOU for topics of discussion. We will also invite teams within close enough proximity to our Studio in The Netherlands to join us in the show.

Every week we will produce a top 10 frag highlight reel. Should there be plenty highlights we might increase the amount of weekly top10's. Again we will ask the community what highlights they want to see.

Kaos TV will be announcing the match commentaries on a frequent basis via all social media and all major cod4 forums."

With the Esports Heaven run Corsair Vengeance Challenge happening soon, the people were hoping some of the mainstay broadcasting companies within the game would pay special attention to this $10,000 online cup and its massive size.

One of those mainstay companies is without a doubt the legendary home of some of the best casters in history and contemporary eSports, QuadV. The company that was founded with the idea of bringing the best and most exciting commentary to some of the best games in eSports has been at the forefront of fans everywhere and has enticed hundreds if not thousands in the past with their vocal and genuine approach to whatever game favoured their fancy at the time.

In Call of Duty 4, they were present on some of the most illustrous events such as the Summer of 2008, but with the experienced legends having to focus more and more on real life events, the company became more and more inactive to the point where it was a rarity to see them deliver online casts anymore.

With Esports Heaven having the pleasure to bring the biggest online cup in Call of Duty's history and one of the biggest online cups in general eSports ever, QuadV had been contacted and shown real interest in becoming part of this Corsair Vengeance Challenge. Each thursday, the likes of Stuart "TosspoT" Saw, Leigh "Deman" Smith and new recruit, Dennis "Mennace" Fick will put on a show for Call of Duty 4 that should bring back the fond memories of old.

Stuart "TosspoT" Saw gave out a statement to TEK9 about QuadV's return to COD4:

"We're glad to be back in the saddle casting CoD4 once again, the CVC tournament looks like its going to be an absolute belter and hats off to those involved in getting such a great prize for the tournament. For Deman and myself, this is a great chance to get back casting one of the games we both enjoy casting the most and one of the communities we've got the greatest affinity to. Our intention is to make Thursday nights a mainstay for everyone during this tournament, so people know where to be and what to watch every Thursday night! I'm also glad to welcome Mennace into QuadV - he's an excellent caster that I've been following for a while and to have him onboard for this tournament and for future CoD events is fantastic, we're looking forward to supporting him and helping him grow as a caster."

Dennis "Mennace" Fick had some words to share about joining up with legendary QuadV:

" QuadV, like for most other people, was the only name in commentating I could care about. Listening to all my favourite commentators bringing me all the CoD4 action my eyes and ears could desire, it was always a dream to be part of them, and it seems that dream has actually come true! I would just like to thank everyone for their continued support in the CoD4 EU community, Stuart and everyone else behind QuadV for making the opportunity possible!"
